Everything in the world has a cycle where things go up and then down over time, food is not an exception. We took a look back at some fast food and real food meals that have taken a peak and seeing what’s down look now.
Organic Foods
The organic food market is increasing in size and growth. Recent studies show that more consumers are keen on buying organic food and are paying attention to the difference between organic and conventional foods. Conventional agricultural methods often use pesticides like DDT and other chemicals that can affect humans and their health negatively. Organic foods have been found to be much healthier for consumers because they do not include these pesticides or any other dangerous chemicals in their growing food product.
Food Sharing and Higher Education
The idea of “fast food” has been a contested topic in restaurants and across the country. For one thing, fast food is usually convenient to access, but many people see it as unhealthy due to the high amounts of fat and sugar in food like hamburgers, fries, and soft drinks. Reaching across differences between vegetarians, vegans, meat eaters and omnivores, students have figured out how the quality of fast-food options can be impacted through their willingness to ask for second helpings at restaurants when free food is offered.
Organic Gardening: Growing a Not So Bland Garden
With all of the money that is spent on fast food and restaurants, it is important to consider other options. Growing your own garden can be a very rewarding experience as you have control over what goes into your plants. Organic gardening means growing plants that are not genetically modified, are not treated with synthetic pesticides, and do not contain genetically modified organisms. And last but not least, organic produce is less than 100 miles away meaning you won’t have to worry about those harmful chemicals getting into your diet.
